Risk factors for atherosclerosis are generally risk factors for myocardial infarction:
1. Old age, Can't say anything, God Bless The Olds
2. Tobacco smoking, Smoke smoke smoke then you see huge smokes(heaven's cloud)
3. Hypercholesterolemia (more accurately hyperlioproteinemia, especially high low density lipoprotein and low density lipoprotein)
Note: Does not mean that you are skinny you have do not have high cholesterol level. My teacher looks same skinny and tall, but he checked his cholesterol levels and it appeared to be higher than normal.
4. Hyperhomocysteine (high homocysteine, a toxic blood amino acid that is elevated when intakes of vitamins B2, B6, B12 and folic acid are insufficient)
Note : Folic acid is an important nutrient for women who is pregnant. Which helps protect against a number of congenital malformations including neural tube defects (birth defects). Neural tube defects (NTDs) result in malformations of the spine (spina bifida), skull, and brain (anencephaly).
5. Diabetes (with or without insulin resistance and don't think you are skinny you have no diabetes.)
6. High blood pressure
7. Obesity (over weight or too fat =.=)
8. Stress (occupations with high stress index are known to have susceptibility for atherosclerosis)
[ Don't say doing homework make you strees, If like that next time you do not need to work, cause working is MORE stress]
Males are more at risk than females.
How to prevent?
It is just easy.
1. Having a good balance diet (refer to the pyramid table of food)
